Pokemon go needs permit in Miluwaukee

Image
MILWAUKEE, WI -- The developer behind GPS-enabled augmented games like Pokemon GO and Ingress will now be required to obtain a permit from the county before they can use county parks for their smartphone-enabled games. This news comes after a six-month battle after players of Pokemon GO literally overran Milwaukee's Lake Park. The Milwaukee County Board approved the new ordinance this week, requiring the permit for such things as portals, pokestops and gyms on county park lands. In August, Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele insisted that Milwaukee was not trying to shut down Pokemon GO in county parks after it sent a letter to the game's developer - urging it to comply with county "virtual geocache" guidelines. "... I was discouraged by recent reports that created some confusion around the County’s position on Pokémon GO," he said in a written statement this week. "We’ve enjoyed watching the Pokémon GO phenomenon take off in our County parks. P...

Pokemon Go Eggs

Image
|With the addition of the 7 new baby pokemon last December people are thinking, 'sigh, now I have to walk down to starbucks to get a 10 km egg just to get a scyther I already have'. But, how are you sure it's a scyther. Essentially, the entire tier system has changed. Many Pokémon have moved out of the 5km egg category, and into the 2km category. And a few 10kms have moved to the 5km tier. Here’s the complete migration info of who has moved: From 5km to 2km: Abra, Bellsprout, Cubone, Diglett, Ekans, Exeggecute, Ghastly, Goldeen, Krabby, Machop, Nidoran (both), Oddish, Seel, Slowpoke, Venonat, Voltorb From 10km to 5km: Pinsir, Scyther,  Onix This may seem like a pretty minor change, but it isn’t. There’s some confusion about if this is a bug, or if this is a temporary switch just because of the Valentine’s event. I don’t think either is the case, and though I have not heard back from Niantic about it yet, I have to believe this is a permanent, much-needed reshuff...

Pokemon Go valentine's day event

Image
The speculated valentine's day event for pokemon go is finally out. Many players expected breeding or umbreon or something spectacular but we got only one word. 'PINK'. Your first thought was probably that was a riddle, but you're wrong. For the valentines day event niantic gave us pink pokemon. Let me guess your confused.😒 Let me give you a message from niantic itself; Trainers, With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, we couldn’t think of a sweeter time to double the amount of Candy you’ll earn every time you catch, hatch, and transfer Pokémon. Your Buddy Pokémon is also getting into the Valentine’s Day spirit and will find Candy twice as fast! Throughout the celebration, you’ll notice that Chansey, Clefable, and many other adorable pink Pokémon will be encountered more frequently in the wild. Cleffa, Igglybuff, and Smoochum will also be more likely to hatch from Eggs. And to help you paint your town pink this Valentine’s Day, Lure Modules will last fo...

Pokemon go valentines day

Image
Photo: Niantic/Paul Tassi It’s become more than a little clear that unless  Pokémon GO  is actively throwing events, it’s actively dying. Players have increasingly little reason to play during “normal” times of the game now, and with the last event ending in early January, it seems almost inevitable that Niantic is going to try and re-spark interesting with yet another event based on a western holiday, this time, Valentine’s Day. While nothing’s been officially announced yet, I would expect some hints to start dropping in the next week, with the event maybe starting around the 10 th  or so, as that’s usually how these things go. Niantic has shown they don’t really like doing the same thing twice for events, at least so far, so that leaves many to wonder exactly what a Valentine’s Day event might hold. And I have an idea. Yes, obviously the “dream” is to have Niantic debut Gen 2 or Legendary Pokémon at last, but assuming that  doesn’t  happen (which see...

Pokemon go becomes fastest app to reach $1 billion

Image
We all know Pokémon GO has made a bunch of money: the sight of entire cities seemingly out in the streets, hunting for digital monsters over the summer was enough to convince anyone of that fact. How much is another question: most video game developers are notoriously cagey about their earnings, and Niantic is no exception. But a new report from Sensor Tower says that the game has crossed an important milestone: $1 billion in revenue. Not bad. It's even more impressive when you consider how mismanaged so many aspects of this game were. To start with, basic monetization is pretty wonky: there are no aesthetic upgrades and no ability to buy premium Poké Balls, both of which could have added untold millions to that figure. On top of that, there's no real endgame or well-defined long-term goals, which caused some pretty extreme user-bleed after those first few weeks. The mind boggles thinking how much this game could have made if it had released in a more complete state, ...

Pokemon go wearable

Image
This post will be all about wearables for pokemon go. This post will be quite long, so  if you need to use the bathroom now is the time to do so. Ok, we are starting off with the first and the original pokemon go wearable, the pokemon go plus! The pokemon go plus is the first wearable that was available to the public. With a starting price of 34.99 dollars it has risen quite sharply to about 60 dollars right now but at a point it was over a hundred. It ran out of stock faster than a trip to the mall. It was one of the fastest selling items I have ever seen, with bids on Ebay as high as 200 dollars the pokemon go plus packs a giant punch. Though it isn't that useful for catching for you can only throw one normal pokeball at a pokemon, so if you really want to catch you are gonna need your phone. It's more useful for pokestops and eggs for to me that is it's home territory, and with its wireless low battery bluetooth connection you're battery life stays fresh. ...
